#Day 63: 03 March 2016
CHOOSE HEALTH
3 John 1:2 ESV - Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul
Good health is something we take for granted—until we start to lose it.
Today I had the opportunity to hear detail of the saddening event on how one of my late friend whom passed away due to heart attack earlier this month.
Similar age with me, a smoker, a social drinker and a happy fellow. But I was told he is not really taking care of his body, his stress and his health. Which one way lead to another was told to became the root cause of the attack.
His death remain as a saddening reality. But at the same time a reminder for all of us. A strong reminder on how important for us to manage our body, our health, body and mind.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body"
And 1 Corinthians 3:17 says "If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple"
We heard a lot about mental health when come to these verses. But today I want to think about physical health, which I believe carrying the same important weight as the mental health.
After all , what's the use of talking about mental health if we are a death body.
Nelson Mandela used to say "Exercise is the key not only to physical health but to peace of mind"
I echoed his view on this. Physical and Mental health, body and soul have to go hand in hand.
I agree that I should not take things for granted before it is too late. Whatever excuse that I used to wear, too busy, no time, lazy, no partner, no mood and so on, I need to stop taking health for granted!!
I believe I have heard and seen enough reminders. I choose to put more attention on my physical health, my body, the temple of the Holy Spirit.
I pray that I continue to be committed with my Muay Thai . I want to glorify Him with a healthy body. I choose health.
Another day full of blessing. I choose health, what about you?
