#Day 86: 26 March 2016

CHILDREN LIKE

Matthew 18:1-3 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

It's pre Easter day, while Elsye was busy with her parents at Sunway Medical Center, I am with the kiddos, at High Praise Church for the Easter service final practice session.

Constance and Francis (together with Shelyn) have their contribution for the Kids Prayer song.

I am a proud father. Looking at how they actually dare themselves to sing. No doubt that they are not the best singer, nor the most experienced in singing. But they are willing. Their willingness already make me a proud father.

Out of their busy schedule with school and homework, and even their playing time and reading time. They willing to give their best.

Oh ya, they also doing their Daniel's Fast, not excluding the consumption of meat but excluding games from their activities! Nor in ipad, phones or even PS3.

For a 9th and 7th years old, I find their sacrifice is MUCH bigger than mine!!

Few things that I learned from them:
  • We should never underestimate or limit the awesomeness, nor competencies of the young ones, or ourselves. They are also knitted by God Himself (Psalm 139:13-16)
  • We need to be children like, the purity and honesty are something that seems lacking in adult world now day. (Matthew 18:1-3)
  • They walked in truth for their commitment. Sometimes I forgot about it and offered the phone to them but they quickly said "we puasa papa", my heart leap with joy hearing such.
  • They encourage each other and they remind each other about their commitment.

I pray that today devotion falls on a good soil in my heart, I need to remember this during a period that seems challenging my focus especially from the work life.

I pray that on this Easter, I can continue to die further. To have the sincerity, honesty and willingness like Constance and Francis, like the children.

Like the song said, never forget never forget, I'll grow up knowing you.

Another day full of blessing. Come on Kwang! Difficulties only make you do it better!

HAPPY EASTER
