#Day150: 30 May 2016, Monday

GROWING UP

2 Timothy 3:14-15 - "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus"

My daughter, Constance, is growing up and we plan to change her room a little bit. From having the mattres on the floor to a proper bed frame of her own taste: from a hello kitty study desk to a simple IKEA modified table. She also have her own bookshelf, which we reuse existing self for her usage.

She is growing up.

Little for us to notice that when we grew up, there is a lot of things that slowly, firmly but sometimes unnoticingly, change. From our biological change of the voice chord; our way of speaking, the choice of words we use, the number of friends that change, the fashion we adopt, the music we listen, the books we read, and so on.

There are lots of things that we change as part of our growth, in each episode, each chapter of our lives we change, we uplift and we continue growing. Just like what Paul said to the Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things"

That is indeed the most important change that we need when we grow up. Our very self, our character, our attitude, our mindset.

While looking at Constance growing, I asked myself, am I growing? Are we growing up?

Do we still keep our childish choice of words, do we still our childish attitude, our childish behavior, thinking and childish mindset?

Or are we having a renewal of mind, knowing that the old self have passed and the new one has come?

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new - 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

I pray that I can always continue to grow. Up and not down, a leader not a follower.

Another day full of blessing. Starts giving, as giving is a sign of growing from accepting.
