But I also learn something powerful. Love conquers fear! The love of the community, my sister, my parents, us and even my kiddos. Together we encourage him to see the reality, that the ride is safe and not as bad as it seems.

FEAR FACTOR
2 Timothy 1:7 ESV - For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Few days ago, I shared about Constance "breaking fear" and how as human we need to (always) remind ourselves about fear. That God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
Today, while heading to Genting for a short family holiday, I was reminded about similar message through my brother in law experience.
We decided to take the Sky Train (Cable Car) to the hotel. One of the longest skytrain ride in Asia. It occurs to me that he have a challenge with height and he is uncomfortable with the idea.
Similar like Constance, apparently the fear came from lack of understanding and experience. He, rarely, encourage himself for any activity that relates to height. I saw a deep need in having an understanding of what we are uncomfortable with. Lack of knowledge does, sometimes, creates fear.
But I also learn something powerful. Love conquers fear! The love of the community, my sister, my parents, us and even my kiddos. Together we encourage him to see the reality, that the ride is safe and not as bad as it seems.
"Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear ..."- 1 John 4:18 NLT
This also shows the power of community, the right community.
We arrived safely to the top and continue our journey. In short, we had fun and I would like to thank God for all of the experiences.
I know that, fear may not stop coming but where there's true love, there can be no fear. True love in the right community.
What a blessing.
