#Day188: 07 July 2016, Thursday
CONCENTRATION
1 Corinthians 9:25-27 ESV - Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
It's Euro 2016 Cup semifinal match! Wales vs Portugal. It was a historic moment for Wales being in Euro semis for their first time in their football history.
Unfortunately thats the end of the journey for them. Portugal over powered them and won the game by 2 - 0.
What interests me was the comment from the coach, Chris Coleman, saying "...But we lost our concentration for five minutes and when you’re up against quality in a semi-final, you’re going to get punished"
"We lost our concentration for five minutes.."
"Five minutes..."
How many times in our lives we experience the same? It's just five minutes! What can go wrong?
In Wales case it's everything.
What about us? Are we staying focus? Or are we losing our concentration? In our study? Our work? Our serving? Are we stay focus on our relationship? Are we still concentrating on our learning or merely earthly materials?
Are we set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth (Collosians 3:2)
Or are we going to be punished...?
Romans 12:2 ESV / 27 - Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
What a day full of blessing.
Congrats Portugal and looking forward for Germany vs France game tonight.
