#Day122: 01 May 2016, Sunday

THE POWER OF THE WORD

(This is Ps. Eddy Chang sermon. A summary that I made based on what I learned - A powerful message for my devotion)

KLCC - the highest building in Malaysia, is supported by a strong foundation, strong pillars that supports the building. It took a year to built its foundation.

Similar to our life, if we want to be uplifted, we need to strengthen our roots, our foundation (our character, our faith).

Our foundation:

Bible has total of 66 books (39 old testaments & 27 new testaments, with total of 1189 verses)

We need to fill our foundation with these verses which is useed by Holy Spirit to strengthen us.

John 20:30, Now Jesus performed many other miraculous signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not recorded in this book.

Threee (3) steps in building our foundation:

1. The Word as priority in our life
  • "If you want to be wise, spend less time on Facebook and more time with your fave in The Book" - Rick Warren
  • "Daily devotion is the breakfast of champions"
    • Champions do not eat "junk" food!

2. The Word shaping our thinking:
  • 2 Tim 3:15  MSG "Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us."

3. The Word as the Ultimate Decision in our life:
  • For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 ESV
    • We need to use the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God
  • Mat 4:4 - The temptation of Jesus. Jesus fought the temptation with God's Word.
  • The question is: Do we have rhema, the Word of God, that we can use to fight when we are down, when we are tested??

Always remember that God who starts thr good in us, it is Him that will bring it to completion.

Phil 1:6 ESV - And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Another day full of blessing
