#Day128: 08 May 2016, Sunday

UPLIFT - TOUNGE

By: Adrian Limanto

Just like when we are at the airport, some words are powerful enough to make us famous (either jailed or hailed). Try the word: Bomb :)

A simple example of power of the word we are using

1 Timothy: 4:12B "... but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity"

We need to be a role model, an example on how we treat others, how our characters becomes a recipe for life. This affirms how our words is indeed as important as our holiness.

James 1:26 "If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless"

1 Peter 3:10 For "Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit

Just like Israelites was not able to enter the promised land, that they always grumble and always expressed negatives words, which in the end, they had to live in those negativity of the power of their own words.

Remember this:

1. Your mouth have its power:
  • God creates the world with His words using His mouth :)
  • Your words are the reflection of your believe, your confidence, your life, your faith.
  • According to a statistic, 92% of our worry never happen!
  • Let start our day with a positive powerful message! Powerful words.
  • Rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving - Colossians 2:7 ESV

2. Your mouth brings peace
  • Ephesians 4:29 - "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."
  • Proverbs 15:23 MSG - "Congenial conversation—what a pleasure! The right word at the right time—beautiful!"
  • In any interaction, any communication, let us starts with the spirit of appreciation, positive atmosphere and words hence brings peace to the discussions.
  • After all, we are asked to be the peace makers

3. Your mouth brings a seed
  • Proverbs 13:2 KJV - A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
  • It is our own decision if we want to reap our positive seeds or negative seeds
  • Robert Morris - Faith doesn't mean that you don't see the problem. Faith means you can see past the problem to the answer. You're not saying, "There is no problem." You're saying, "There is an answer!"

Another day full of blessing!
