#Day125: 05 May 2016, Thursday

RULE OVER IT

Genesis 4:6-7 -  "The Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it."

I now know why God accepted Abel offering and not Cain. It is because God is no vegetarian :) (it's a joke folks)

Everyone knows the story of Cain and Abel which had a horror ending, Abel was killed by his brother, Cain. Why? Because of jealousy, envy which if we read properly because of his own fault.

God said in above verse, if you do well, will you  not be accepted?, this indicates that (I think) Cain offering, the vegetable, the fruits of his farm, is not well.

This is a good reminder for us. That sometimes jealousy or envy is actually not because of others but merely because of our incompetence of doing well as well as managing or controlling the desire to look or feel better. We blame others!

That is why God reminded Cain that he must rule over that jealous or envious feeling and its desire which will bring us down.

The same that we need to remind ourselves to keep giving our best and let God do the rest.

We need to rule over it! We need to rule over it by always giving our best and do well.

And no, it is not because God is vegetarian :)

Another day full of blessing
